During the fourth quarter of 2021, the performance of the top 5 social apps on the Android platform in Oman revealed interesting trends. According to Sensor Tower data, Instagram, TikTok, TikTok Lite - Save Data, Facebook, and Likee - Short Video Community demonstrated varied user engagement and revenue patterns.

Instagram saw its weekly downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter, starting at around 10.2K and hitting a peak of 13.2K in the third week of December. Revenue for this app saw a brief spike, reaching approximately $18 in the week of November 22. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 820K, with minor fluctuations.

TikTok experienced a steady weekly active user base, growing from 762K to nearly 780K by the end of the quarter. Revenue peaked in the first week of October at about $25.2K and saw a significant drop mid-quarter before recovering slightly in December. Weekly downloads started strong at 11.4K but declined to around 5K by the end of the quarter.

For TikTok Lite - Save Data, weekly downloads decreased from 9.3K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 3.7K by the end. The active user count remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 61K. Notably, this app did not generate any revenue during the quarter.

Facebook showed a steady download rate, starting at around 6.5K and ending the quarter at about 3.8K. Revenue peaked at $1.8K in the first week of November but generally hovered around a few hundred dollars in other weeks. The active user count saw a gradual decline from 297K to approximately 274K by the end of December.

Likee - Short Video Community experienced a consistent active user base, fluctuating between 180K and 200K throughout the quarter. Revenue peaked at $3.9K in the last week of October, gradually declining to around $2.9K by the end of December. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 3.5K to 7K.
